Meet Lizanne
Your workplace mediator with a difference
Hi, I’m Lizanne, a workplace mediator based in Devizes in beautiful Wiltshire.
People fascinate me; they always have. And when you choose a workplace mediator, that interest in people is what you need to build rapport quickly with the conflicted parties, so you can start reaching a resolution.
Many mediators you’ll meet will have a background in HR or Legal. Very few will have started as a graduate trainee with experience in working on the shop floor, being part of a team, managing people in tough situations, or even being made redundant. I’ve done all those things.
The first fifteen years of my career were spent in Waitrose working in Patisserie, Deli, Fresh Foods, and Checkouts before eventually moving into HR in Head office. Since then, I’ve worked across industries as diverse as the automotive industry to digital management, pet shops to pubs, care homes to IT Security.
And it’s that varied experience and a broad set of certifications which gives me a different perspective on mediation.
There are times when it isn’t enough to know the technicalities of a process. You need to have walked in someone else’s shoes. So you can create that connection and get to the heart of the issue.
